   The BMW 5 Series is a line of sedans and wagons designed by the German automaker BMW. This series took over in 1972, 1500, 1800 and 2000 (E115).

Six Series 5 generations have succeeded to date:

The E12 1972-1981

The E28 from 1981 to 1988

The E34 from 1988 to 1996

E39 from 1996 to 2003

E60 from 2004 to 2010.

F10 since 2010.

Most resulted in the production of a sportier version with the Motorsport division of BMW M5.

BMW F10 / F11 are the sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series It has, for the 550i version of a 408 hp V8 currently used by the X6 and 7 Series versions 535i, 528i, 523i and the 530d 525d and complete the offer in 6 cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It also inaugurates the new 8-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF, which is also used on the 760i and 760Li and will be the future on the 6 Series and the rest of the range. It also inherits the technological arsenal of the new 7 Series Concept BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo presented at the Geneva show foreshadowed the features of the F10 and F11. They also benefit from the aesthetic features of the Concept CS including the grille and headlights.
