   The BMW X3 is a high-end SUV produced by German automaker BMW.

 Following the success of the BMW X5 and taking advantage of the boom in the leisure vehicle market, BMW X3 in 2003 this concept in Detroit. The first models leave the factory one year after the presentation. A pioneer in the segment of compact SUV "premium", the BMW X3 faces no real competition before the arrival of Audi Q5 and other Mercedes-Benz GLK.

After seven years of existence, the BMW X3 E83 disappears in favor of a new, sharp generation better equipped to face another Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK.

Close enough aesthetically the previous generation, the 2010 X3 shows up dimensions and offers more powerful engines.

At launch two engines are offered, diesel supply (xDrive20d) is a gasoline supply (xDrive35i). The range is expanded in 2011 with the arrival of xDrive20i, xDrive28i, xDrive30d and xDrive35d.

In 2012, an entry-level variation is added: sDrive18d the two-wheel drive. The xDrive28i as for it now houses the new 2 liter turbo that replaces the old 3 liters.

2014 marks the arrival of 2 liters of diesel generation under the name sDrive18d and the expansion of the offer to the two-wheel drive entry-level petrol engine (now sDrive20i).
