   The BMW X1 is a crossover type of car produced by the German manufacturer BMW since October 2009.

Faced with an ever-car market segmentation, BMW decided to propose in 2009 an alternative to the BMWX3. Smaller and more accessible than the latter, the BMW X1 is available in two (sDrive) and four wheel drive (xDrive) and tends to target a younger audience than the BMW X3.

Reiterating the main engines of the 1 Series, the BMW X1 is available from launch with a six-cylinder petrol unit (28i) and three blocks 4 cylinder diesel (18d, 20d and 23d). The range is complemented in 2010 by two petrol engines: the 4-cylinder 18i and 25i 6 cylinders. XDrive all-wheel drive is mounted automatically on the 25i, 28i and 23d. It is available as an option on the 18d and 20d.

In 2011, the BMW X1 strenna the new turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine of the brand.
