BMW i8 electric car:
The BMW i8 car comes from
the hybrid concept car Vision Efficient Dynamics. Presented at the 2009
Frankfurt Motor Show, it combines hybrid technology and classic supercar
performance. The production version was presented at the 2013 edition of the
same IAA. This model is part of the "i" BMW is launched as a new
brand.
The BMW i8 has a
3-cylinder petrol engine 231 hp and 320 Nm, which is found deflated on the mini
version 2014 and an electric engine per axle.
The use of a
starter-alternator 15 kW helps erase latency when starting the heat group.
Electric front group
develops 131 hp and involves only the front axle, the rear is a mix of thermal
and electrical with automatic transmission. At low revs the engine is assisted
by an electric motor of 20 hp.
Autonomy is within 600
km of which 37 km in electric, with a 42-liter tank and Li-Ion battery (Iron
Phosphate) 7.1 kWh under 355 volts.
