BMW i3 electric car:
The BMW i3 car, previously
called MegaCity Vehicle (MCV) is a five-door car, electric, designed by BMW.
This model is part of the "i" BMW is launched as a new brand. The i3
is the first electric vehicle mass produced by the manufacturer followed by the
very sporty i8.
This is the first time the company launched
mass production car with plastic reinforced with carbon fiber (CFRP) to reduce
weight. Consequently, the assembly process uses a precisely defined adhesive
bead 160 meters long and 20 millimeters wide.
The BMW i3 uses electrical energy in its
batteries charged, without the help of a heat engine such as some hybrid cars.
Its autonomy is announced between 130 and 210 km, depending on driving style.
BMW site components in
Landshut, Bavaria, provides the components of electric motors, the cockpit,
with carbon fiber from BMW's joint venture in the United States. The site near
Dingolfing factory chassis, transmissions and assemble the batteries. The i3 is
ultimately mounted in the former GDR, in Leipzig.
Three in number and distributed as follows:
Comfort, autonomy of ~ 130 km.
Eco pro, autonomy ~ 160 km.
Eco Pro +, air conditioning is turned off and
the top speed is limited to 90 km / h and allows a range of ~ 200 km.
Eco Pro ./+ with REx ~
340 km.
