Audi TTs sport car:
On 3 March 2014, the third generation of the Audi TT was
first introduced as a coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. At launch in the fall
there will be a 2.0 TDI with 135 kW (184 hp) and two 2.0 TFSI engine with 169
kW (230 hp) and in the TTS with 228 kW (310 hp). The diesel engine is the first
time also available with front-wheel drive, four-wheel drive quattro is
available for the two weaker engines as an option. The design of the vehicle is
based in some detail in the first generation. Examples of this are the special
fuel filler caps and exhaust system with two central tailpipes. The virtual
cockpit interior of said third TT was introduced in January 2014, on the
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The exterior of the vehicle has not fundamentally changed,
the round roof curvature remained. Some items such as the headlamps and the
broader grille were created edged. At the rear, the third brake light below the
extendable rear spoiler over the entire width of the rear hatch between the
rear lights has been integrated. The vehicle is based on the modular transverse
matrix, which also uses the Audi A3 8V. The dimensions of the TT have changed
only slightly, sometimes even reduced. The weight was reduced by about 50
kilograms compared to its predecessor by various measures. As standard, the TT
comes with xenon headlights, there is an additional charge LED headlamps or
matrix LED headlights. The latter have twelve individual LEDs that produce the
high beam continuously and hide oncoming traffic. The rear lights are always
executed in LED technology and have a first time Running Light. There is also
in conjunction with one of the two LED systems a dynamic beacon, which
"wipes" in turning direction.
Innovations in interior mainly concern the infotainment
system. So there is no classical radio / navigation display in the center
console anymore, but a 12.3-inch display is instead the instrument cluster. It
allows two different views, the normal layout, with tachometer and speedometer
or a view with small round dials and a large area for multimedia settings or
the navigation map. When TTS, there is a third view with a large central rev
counter. The system is operated either via the multifunction steering wheel, on
the new MMI knob on the center console or the revised voice control. The latter
now detects freely spoken sentences without concrete specifications.
Optionally, the MMI knob on a touchpad with handwriting recognition. Audi MMI
now with Tegra 3 processor.
Below mentioned optional equipment is available for the
first time in comparison to its predecessor.
